Rehabilitation Therapists

Research is beginning to show that there are links between synaptic activity in the brain and the brain's efficiency. Studies show that lab animals experience changes in their brains as the result of learning a new skill. This is important for those in therapy designed to restore or enhance motor skill ability as a result of traumatic brain injury or stroke, because it indicates that activities that stimulate synaptic, or neural, processes are necessary for learning new skills and improving performance. The most effective way of increasing neural involvement is through sensory integration therapy. Balametrics has been developing therapies that effectively increase neural involvement via sensory integration for over 25 years. What makes our therapies different from other programs is the understanding of the role of balance in brain processing. The vestibular system is the first sensory system to develop and provides a calibration base for the other senses. When a person is involved in sensory integration therapy that incorporates balance, the effect in the neural networks of the brain is profound. As the difficulty of a task increases, the number or neurons in the network must increase. By increasing neural involvement, brain processing efficiency improves.

Balametrics programs allow therapists to provide quality sensory integration and rehabilitation therapies because our programs include the critical element of balance. This allows the therapist and the patient to constantly improve the neural efficiency of the brain by providing an opportunity to constantly increase the difficulty of the task.

Balametrics can help you provide effective therapies for your patients that enable them to perform to their full abilities. Shouldn't the goal of a therapy program be to improve the patient's chances for a normal life by addressing foundational issues rather than training them to live with their limitations? Please examine our products closely. If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact us at (800) 894-3187 or send us an email. Dr. Belgau's vision is to help as many people as possible reach their full potential. Our mission at Balametrics is to facilitate that success.
